Nicholas’ practice focuses primarily on public and criminal law. He accepts briefs in various areas, including judicial reviews, merits reviews, disciplinary proceedings, and criminal matters.


Nicholas began his career as a solicitor in Far North Queensland, focusing on criminal, domestic violence, and regulatory law. As a criminal defence solicitor, he advised and represented clients charged with serious offences, including murder.


Before being called to the bar, Nicholas served as an associate to her Honour Judge Dann of the District Court of Queensland. After approximately one year as a government legal officer and an employed barrister at Crown Law, he transitioned to the private bar in 2025.


Nicholas is available to represent clients at any stage of their legal proceedings and has experience in the Magistrates Court, the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal, the District Court, and the Supreme Court.


He is a member of the Bar Association of Queensland and the Law Society of Ontario and is also licensed to practice law in Canada.
