Kate has extensive experience in criminal and regulatory prosecutions.  She joined Holmes Chambers in February 2026, after nine years as an employed barrister.


Most recently, prior to joining the private bar, Kate was an Assistant Work Health and Safety Prosecutor, conducting and advising on serious regulatory prosecutions.


She has also worked as a Senior Federal Prosecutor with the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions and as a Crown Prosecutor with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (Queensland), regularly appearing in complex indictable matters.


Kate began her legal career as an Associate to a Judge of the Supreme Court of Tasmania before practising as a criminal lawyer with Legal Aid Tasmania.


Kate has a Master of Laws (Criminal Practice) from the University of Wollongong.


Kate accepts briefs in crime, regulatory prosecutions, public and administrative law and inquests and inquiries, drawing on her 18 years’ experience in advocacy and advisory roles across the criminal justice system.
