Ed Whitton

Ed is an experienced criminal law counsel. He started his career as a criminal defence solicitor at Legal Aid Queensland in 2010 and was then called to the bar in 2014. He joined the Public Defender’s chambers as a barrister in 2016, where he was appointed to the position of Assistant Public Defender in 2021.

Ed joined the private bar at Holmes chambers in May of 2023, where he has continued to practice predominantly in criminal law. He also has experience in family law and child protection, administrative law, and appearing in inquests and inquiries.

Ed has a busy practice throughout Queensland, including many remote and regional centres.
