Allana’s focus is criminal law and associated areas such as the Mental Health Court, Mental Health Review Tribunal, Dangerous Prisoner applications, coercive hearings, appeals and administrative reviews.
Allana also practises in family law and domestic violence related matters.
She accepts briefs in all stages of criminal law matters, in all jurisdictions, including Commonwealth matters. Allana regularly represents clients at bail applications in the Magistrates and Supreme Courts, committals, pre-trial hearings, summary hearings, superior court trials, and sentences.
She is also able to be briefed in family law matters and domestic violence applications,
and other related matters in the Magistrates Court and Federal Circuit Courts.
Allana accepts Legal Aid Queensland and ATSILS funded matters.
Before joining the bar Allana began her legal career working in a boutique criminal law firm in Southport.
During that time, Allana built experience in criminal and domestic violence matters.Â
Allana then moved to Legal Aid Queensland and worked for that organisation at Southport, Beenleigh and Ipswich. During her time with Legal Aid Queensland, Allana represented and advocated for countless individuals, helping them achieve justice despite financial disadvantage.
Allana has extensive regional experience. She has appeared in locations from Coolangatta to North Queensland, and as far west as Charleville and Goondiwindi. Taking on regional work has provided Allana with experience in dealing with a vast array of clients and judicial officers throughout Queensland.
Regional work has been a passion of Allana’s in ensuring that everyone has access to representation and assistance in dealing with the criminal justice system.
